Where our data comes from
KeysAhead is built on public records. We want you to know exactly where the information comes from, because the whole point of this site is trust.
State licensing rosters
Mortgage loan officer licensing is public record. Several state regulators publish their own licensee rosters as free, downloadable files. We use those official state files. The states with full rosters loaded today, and their sources, are:
- California: Department of Real Estate licensee data file.
- Florida: Office of Financial Regulation registration data download.
- Pennsylvania: Department of Banking and Securities, via the data.pa.gov open data portal.
- Missouri: Division of Finance licensee search export.
We are adding more states as their public files allow.
The official record
The authoritative record for every licensed mortgage loan officer in the country lives on NMLS Consumer Access, operated by the state regulators. KeysAhead links every result to that official record. When a state does not publish a downloadable file, we point you to the official NMLS lookup rather than reproducing data we cannot source cleanly.
What we show, and what we don't
We show licensing facts: name, NMLS number, license status, company where available, and location. We do not publish personal contact details, and we do not rank or rate loan officers. A listing is a statement of public record, not a recommendation.
